Aon: Retirement Valuation Consultant (Part-Time 24 Hours/Wk, Remote)

Aon is looking for a Retirement Valuation Consultant (Part-time 24 hours/wk, Remote) Responsibilities: Full responsibility for management of small to mid-sized client valuations, including staffing, peer review and timely, accurate and efficient completion of core deliverables.

Manage large and/or more complex client valuations with some oversight.

Communicate internal deadlines and organize resources as needed to meet those deadlines Peer review of work performed by other Valuation Consultants on an ” As-needed” basis.

Serve as primary resource for questions from client facing colleagues on core valuation topics and results related to assigned client valuations Review and certification of government filings required of qualified defined benefit pension plans primarily Form 5500 Schedule SB, Annual Funding Notices, AFTAPs and PBGC annual premium filings.

Assist with determining the effect of various plan design, settlement, funding, and accounting strategies on an as needed basis.

Coaching of junior colleagues through review of their work and direct feedback to assist in developing their skills.

Maintain actuarial credentials through participation in in-house continuing education opportunities Maintain up-to-date knowledge of present and proposed legislative and regulatory requirements affecting qualified defined benefit plans through self-study and internal training sessions.

Qualifications: Fully credentialed actuary (Enrolled Actuary credentials required.

Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries highly desirable).

5+ years of related work experience in a consulting environment.

Experience in the valuation of qualified and nonqualified defined benefit plans as well as other post-employment benefit plans.

Ability to take ownership of, and manage, multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal oversight.

Ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to various audiences.

Demonstrated mind-set for continuous improvement of processes and procedures used to complete client projects.

Highly competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with ProVal valuation software highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $90,000 for part-time role annually.

This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
