About the role The Cengage Work business unit is seeking a Sr. UX Designer that will help create and improve consumer applications targeted at helping learners build the skills they need to advance their careers, through ed2go’s (http://www.ed2go.com/) digital first learning experiences. As a Sr. UX Designer at Cengage, you will report to the Sr. Director of Technical Product Management and be the primary designer for a significant body of work within the Cengage Work business unit. You’ll focus on our consumer facing websites to entice shoppers to become learners, help simplify our learning experiences, and improve the lives of our support organization by improving our back-office systems. The ideal candidate will determine how users discover, consider, use, and interact with our digital products by driving strategy, research, innovation, implementation, and optimization. You’ll bring both the art of design and the science of human interaction to challenge the status quo and deliver an unparalleled experience. This is a remote role that will work with individuals across Pacific and Eastern time zones. As the Sr. UX Designer on projects, you’ll + Define the interaction, behavior, and visual presentation of all new features and enhancements to our Marketing, eCommerce, and back-office experiences + Advocate for our users (Shoppers, Learners, Support users and B2B Customers) to understand their problems and create experiences to solve their problems + Create a design system that will be used to build components for both the consumer facing websites and back-office experiences + Collaborate with product managers, architecture/engineering, and research partners to deliver the best possible outcome within identified constraints + Deliver low-fidelity wireframes, behavioral specifications, user flows, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and design guidelines + Ensure consistency in our end-to-end user flows and align the visual presentation to existing brand guidelines using the design system + Account for all users of our products and the devices they use, by incorporating a responsive design strategy and adhering to accessibility standards + Attend and participate in qualitative and quantitative user research to inform your design decisions and validate product concepts and solutions Required Skills and Background + Online portfolio of your work, highlighting consumer facing experiences + 6+ years experience producing compelling responsive web applications and mobile apps + Experience in consumer facing Marketing and eCommerce websites a must + Experience with a web Content Management System (e.g. Adobe, Optimizely) + Proactive and data-driven within a collaborative environment + Ability to self-manage scope and deadlines, across multiple projects + Experience defining, implementing, and working with design systems + Experience designing for disabled users and familiarity with WCAG standards Cengage Group is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
