VMware is looking for a Director, VMC on AWS Cloud Sales to lead a team responsible for selling VMC on AWS offerings to Federal/State/Local Government and Education agencies within the United States (AMER). This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and creative sales team, in a crucial emerging business unit for VMware.The Director, VMC on AWS Cloud Sales will be responsible for building a strong territory in the assigned geography and achieving both pipeline and revenue targets, managing sales forecasts, and building a brand around our solutions within AMER.He/she will need to oversee and work closely with VMware’s core Field and Partner organizations to achieve success and manage interactions with our existing customers. We are looking for a thoughtful, disciplined & resilient leader, who will bring significant experience and credibility to the management teams to inspire all as we push forward in our journey around Cloud transformation.**Role & Responsibilities**Sales Execution+ Develop, implement and execute a sound strategic plan designed to achieve the growth and profitability goals+ Define & adjust well-qualified strategies (whether by geography, market or type of customer) to determine the extent of business potential for VMware appropriate route to market and work closely with Partners and through the growing direct sales team to take initiatives to build the business accordingly+ Achieve and increase revenue consumption targets for VMware Cloud on AWS for all the AMER region+ Identify high propensity customers + drive increased annual recurring revenue (ARR).+ Deliver consultative sales experience especially around the adoption of cloud services in the infrastructure space.+ Be responsible for ensuring execution and for creating synergies within a matrixed organization.+ Be a key contributor in building & closing multi millions cloud opportunities in full synergy with all hyperscalers.+ Principally provide direction, leadership and a very strong personal contribution to the sales organisation, but also provide leadership in the region for the marketing and services functions of the business, ensuring efforts are focused on building relationships with key Partners and referenceable major accounts and that all/any direct leads are appropriately qualified+ Ensure a clearly defined process and methodology exists within the sales and extended teams (customer success, system engineering, services) with accountability for forecasting and delivery, along with managing the appropriate visibility into the sales pipeline+ Influence the development of and own executing marketing and sales programs to facilitate accelerated growth and profitability.Sales leadership & people management+ Provide the strategic vision and day-to-day leadership for the VMC on AWS Public Sector Cloud Sales organization.+ Rapidly gain acceptance within VMware as a strong & recognized business leader in AMER and at WW level (BU & Corp).+ Be the company’s “link” to major Federal/State/Local and Education agency IT BDMs and TDMs in the region.+ Develop Collaboration and positive relationships with core Field and Partner sales leaders to ensure proper engagement with core teams and customers.+ Provide direction, leadership and strong personal contribution to the sales organization+ Provide leadership in the region for the marketing and services functions of the business, ensuring efforts are focused on building relationships with key Partners and referenceable major accounts.+ Inspire company performance, instil the mission and goals, and set the stage for the acquisition, retention, and management of superior talent throughout the organization.+ Be able to be both a direct manager and manager of managers.+ Be the VMware cultures & values ambassador, contribute to implement a diverse & inclusive culture across the teams and build a strong employer brand & retention reputation.+ Drive continuous change and flexibility in the organization while at the same time instituting discipline and rigor in daily business operations to meet the objectives.3) Cloud Technology Vision+ Mentor high-potential inside-sellers and managers to assume greater future responsibilities & develop VMware’s reputation.+ Gain a deep understanding of the customer benefits provided by VMC on AWS solutions to ensure strong, sustainable and profitable growth.**Requirements**+ The ideal candidate will have substantial experience building and/or leading a cloud-based technology company in hyper-growth.+ She/He will be a well-known and well-regarded executive within the technology industry, and be considered a strong visionary, leader and manager.+ 15+ years of sales experience in the IT industry, within Public Sector space.+ Strong knowledge of the IT hosting and cloud services segment (the cloud services marketplace, hybrid cloud, IT sales cycles, and VMware’s partner programs and ecosystem will all be essential for success in the role).+ Ability to articulate and evangelize the value of cloud IT solutions.
