APEX Offer Engineering owns various development deliverables in respect to Release Engineering of various offers.

What you’ll achieve:

As a Cloud Release Engineer you will be responsible for driving the successful development of packages and upgrade delivery methodologies and solutions across APEX.

You will work with a best in class aaS Engineering, CTO and Services organizations to understand requirements and implement the development which facilitates deploying at global footprint scale.

You will: 

Implement standard methodologies for building and releasing software
Identify useful new technologies which can improve efficiency and reliability and incorporating them into the CI & build release workflows
Own and continually improve the software applications and tools that run our production and CI pipelines.

Make scheduled major and minor releases: triage and debug build issues and work with developers to ensure timely resolution
Lead, design and contribute directly to the efforts of automation at scale
Act as a bridge between Software Development, Hardware Development, DevOps and Program Management
Collaborate with the team to successfully run multiple release trains in parallel

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements 

  • 7+ years of balanced (wide depth) infrastructure and automation architecture/deployment experience 
  • Hands-on aptitude with constructing automation solutions leveraging classic components
  • Moderate to advanced ability with Python, Bash (extra credit for NodeJS & Java)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Experience with Cloud deployments (e.g.

    Terraform, Cloud Formation, Serverless)

  • Experience in configuration management for deploying, configuring, and managing servers and system
  • Ability to understand a large system with diverse technologies and applications
  • Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Bachelor’s in STEM

Desirable Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in STEM
  • Direct experience with Dell’s Enterprise Product Line (e.g.

    PowerStack, PowerScale)

  • Professional Architect (or equivalent) level certifications from AWS, GCP, Azure
