The Training Instructor II is responsible for developing and conducting training for a functional or corporate audience.
This position focuses on teaching specific areas of knowledge or on-the-job capabilities needed for certain positions.
Observation of business unit practices and gathering and analyzing feedback may be required in order to develop training materials such as presentations, job aids, exercises, etc.
Delivers a variety of instructor led courses (classroom or virtual format).
Training may include but not limited to: skills development, sales training, product training, new hire training, and continuing education
Development and revision of training materials such as teaching aides, handbooks, PowerPoint presentations, eLearnings and reference guides, under minimal supervision.
Gathers and analyzes training evaluation feedback to assess effectiveness and drive improvement; Ensures training rosters are collected and courses/attendees are tracked in the company’s learning management system
Direct observation of business unit practices, as needed.
Observation may include but is not limited to: train the trainers, observation of existing training, shadowing business unit, co-facilitate.
Adhere to all regulatory and compliance issues linked to the job and the team and understand how these issues help the bank achieve the vision of remaining an independent bank.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Required
Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field is preferred
Formalized training in instructional design and solid understanding of adult learning principals is a plus
3-5 years training experience in both instructor led live and virtual environments
1-3 years’ experience using eLearning development software (preferably Articulate or Captivate)
1-3 years’ experience in financial services industry specifically related to mortgage is required
1 year experience in Mortgage Operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; particularly experienced in presenting to a variety of audiences and number of people
Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and presentation skills
Proven leadership skills and the ability to act as a professional role model
Proven time management and organizational skills with close attention to detail
Solid knowledge of the latest corporate training techniques
Ability to learn and understand new technologies quickly
A high competency in Microsoft Office products
Independent thinking and self-motivation required
Ability to mentor team members
Ability to cross train and become a subject matter expert in multiple topics
Ability to work regularly scheduled hours, 8:30-5:00 PM Monday
– Friday; some weekend or evening hours may be required upon business need
